Hailing from San Jose, California, USA, Dave was born on 20 July 1977. When he was in second grade, his family moved to Aromas California, where 85-90% of residents were Mexicans.
Later, he graduated from Watsonville High School in 1996. He played football during his high school years.
There isn’t much data on his family background; but, it was reported that his family owned a farm in Aromas, California.
Initially, his parents didn’t approve when he told them that he wanted to train for SEALs as he was already accepted in the California State University at Monterey Bay. However, he dropped out of the university after three months and joined a Bootcamp in early 1997. Later, he was assigned to his first SEAL team in 1998.
