Yamiche Alcindor was born in Miami, Florida, the United States as Yamiche Léone Alcindor in 1986 and celebrates her birthday on 2nd of November every year. Her Haitian parents raised her in Miami, so she holds American nationality.
She pursued her education from Georgetown University, with a Bachelors degree in Arts including English, International Relations and African American Studies in 2009. Later she joined New York University, where she obtained a Masters degree in Broadcast News and Documentary Filmmaking. In the University, she won an award for the best journalism student.
